Alternating rounds of King/Queen of the Court and traditional games played to 21 during pool play. Maximize play, minimize sits.

Coed

One female, one male athlete per team. All games played on a men’s net.

Win advantages during Hybrid rounds to gain an edge on your journey to tournament.

This tournament will begin with pool play, which will alternate between Hybrid rounds and round-robin style play. The round robin games will determine seeding for the single elimination tournament. The top seed from pool play will get a first round bye. Hybrid rounds will be played for a chance to earn advantages to be used during pool play, plus one opportunity to earn an “immunity idol” which is the only advantage that can be used during tournament. If a team earns an immunity idol, that team will be able to eliminate a loss during tournament, forcing the winning team to compete in a match play format if the team with the immunity idol losses the first game.

    3:00 PM: Single Elimination Tournament Begins

  • Each winner of a Hybrid round will have the opportunity to blind-draw from a pool of “advantages”, but beware, not all of the options will be an advantage for your team.

    Advantages

    • Puppet Master: Decide whether men or women serve in a round of Hybrid.

    • Steal a Round: Prior to the round starting, pick a team to swap points with during a Hybrid round. The team you switched with is announced once the round is over.

    • Monster Block: Block an advantage from being played during Pool play.

    • Exile: Prevent a team from competing in the first 4 minutes of a Hybrid round.

    • No Hands: Prevent a team from hand setting in a pool play round.

    • Ball Hog: Force another team to compete using the Mikasa ball in a pool play round.

    • Head Start: Start a pool play round with a 2 point advantage.

    • Immunity Idol: Survive a loss in tournament.

    • Slow Start: Your next opponent in pool play will have a 2 point advantage.

    • Beware Alliance: Sit out the first 4 minutes of the next round of Hybrid -and give another team a 2 point advantage before starting that round.
