This unique Hybrid format give players the opportunity to compete against a wider range of competition each week and promotes matching teams against similar skill sets. Depending on the number of teams, the league will consist of either 1 or 2 pools each week. Both pools will compete for a total of 2 hours; either 6-8 or 8-10pm.

King/Queen of the Court is played with all teams competing on 1 court at the same time. One side of the court is the “King/Queen” side. The other side is the serving side. The ball is served to the “King/Queen” side and the ball until the rally is over. If you win the point, you either move to the “K/Q” side, or receive a point if you are on the King/Queen side already. The team the lost the point exits the court and a new challenger lines up to serve. The goal is to earn as many points as possible on the “K/Q” in the allotted time. You do not earn points from a missed serve.

During the first hour of pool play, all team compete in a King/Queen of the Court format for a total of three 15-minute rounds. Women serve during the 1st round, Men serve the 2nd round, and the 3rd round is open serve. Points are tracked from all three rounds to determine seeding for the tournament round.

During the Tournament, teams compete in a single elimination tournament in a traditional format of games to 21.

This format can seem confusing if you have not played it before, but we have received great feedback from teams that have had a chance to compete in it! It offers more play and a better workout than traditional coed formats.
